Additional Information

A visual marvel with a curvilinear design and a pair of LED-equipped pylons that pierce the skyline, the pedestrian bridge spans the Missouri River and connects Omaha, Neb., with Council Bluffs, Iowa. Built to enhance its natural surroundings, the design team incorporated specific protections for migratory birds and incorporated interactive sculptures that educate users about endangered Missouri River species. Already exceeding usage projections by significant margins, the bridge is a signature landmark for the community and has become more than a means to a destination – it’s a destination in and of itself. The longest pedestrian bridge to link two states.
